And to my surprise, Deezer HiFi sounded the most natural and airy, and the most analogue. So then I switched to listening to the same FLAC song streamed via Tidal HiFi and Deezer HiFi. It's like a loveless marriage I can't seem to escape from. My conclusions: Spotify Premium’s MP3 sounded really good, but there is a noticeable difference one you listen to the same song on Tidal HiFi or Deezer HiFi. Another thing that instantly irked me about Deezer was its complete lack of a dynamic queue. I had to kick it three or four times an hour. I then tried Deezer, but didn't stick with it more than a day as if you select hifi quality music and it comes across a track that's not hifi, it just stops playing. ![]() Also was missing a couple of artists I listen to a lot. It couldn't last more than a couple of hours before it fell over. Couple that in with general crashes at least once a day. I first tried Tidal, and the compression was definitely better, and the track radio was superior to Spotify, however if it came across a song that it couldn't play (either no longer existed or some other untold reason), the app would fall over and stop. I have music on in the background at work, use Last.fm and generally have a single playlist with thousands of songs, occasionally putting on either new music playlists or track radio and mixing in entire albums. I've been using Spotify for years but was getting more and more annoyed with the compression so I shopped around.
